Clay Soccer Club is proud to announce that we are joining forces with Cahaba Springs Soccer Club ,  increasing our facilities, increasing our opportunities, and giving our children a better chance of success.

During this change you shouldn't see many changes for the parents, however the Club will be making some major changes which are outlined below.

1) We will be adding our Elite Academy Product for 8-11 year old players.  This program is a focused training regimen for players who wish to push their skills, strength, speed, agility & understanding to the next level.

 2) We will be able to provide competitive programs for more age groups and more children.

3) We will be adding some training guidelines for all ages of Recreational teams in order to improve the learning curve.

4) We will be requiring all coaches, at all ages, in all divisions to be licensed by either the USSF or the NSCAA.

5) We will be acquiring additional facilities in order to accomodate the new teams and players.

6) We will be spreading our reach into new communities to spread the wonderful game of Soccer to more children around this side of Jefferson County.

Please be patient as we work through this process.  If you have any suggestions or ideas that may assist us during this transition, please do not hesitate to contact a club administrator.

Also, if you have access to or knowledge of how to run heavy machinery, please get with us if you are willing to volunteer time.  If you only know how to use a weed-eater, we could use that too.  We have a LOT of work on our hands this Summer.

Thanks to everyone for helping us get to where we are.  You are the reason we are still growing!!

ianvw.jpgIan Vanwinkle: U10 Boys:  Ian has stepped up this season and has shown great improvement,  Ian V. has set himself apart at practice and during games by being a leader off and on the field. Ian V. was solid in defense on Saturday, getting right in the mix and adjusted well to difficult defensive positions against an organized offense.

Jaylon Corley: U8 Blue - Coker:  Jaylon Corley had a very good game on both sides of the ball. Jaylon is a very import part of our offense, and has great closing speed when playing defense. His skill set continues to improve, and is a natural for the game.

iank.jpgIan Knapp: U10 Boys: Ian performed well against a Homewood defense that was pretty
organized, Ian worked well off the ball making opportunities, and taking shots on goal. Ian K. stepped up on the sidelines as well helping support his team with encouragement and helped lead the squad on the field.

johncaedmon.jpgJohn Caedmon Thompson: U8 White Cougars: John Caedmon Thompson is the U8 White Cougars player of the week. He played great defense, really focused on the game and had 2 goals.

JT Steber: U6 Blue - Coker:  JT Steber was an offensive power house knocking in three goals this week. JT continues to get better at every practice, and his efforts reap big rewards come game time.

This week's Featured Player of the Week is Josey McConnell:

josey.jpg

Josey McConnell: U8 White Cougars: A great all around game, good control of the ball on offense, great defense and hustle. Josey has used the skills that she has learned in training!!  Keep learning Josey!!  Congrats!!

Daylan Crum: U6 Blue: Daylan has taken to soccer like a duck takes to water.  Daylan had a great game kicking goal kicks for us Saturday.  All of his kicks reached or passed the center line. This is Daylan first year to play, and he is really making great progress.  The first practice I had to really work one-on-one to get him to play our Sharks and Minnows game.  Now Daylan mixes it up with the rest of them.
