Alex Lovell's hustle and hard work on defense has earned him Player of the Week honors for week 4 at Clay Soccer Club. Alex is a team player, and even knows that he is helping the team most when he is on defense. Several times throughout the weekend tournament, his opponent would break away for what appeared to be a 1-on-1 with the keeper, and somehow, out of nowhere, Alex would track him down, make the challenge and win the ball for his team. Alex plays with heart, with passion, and with pride. Because I, too, have played as a defender position, I greatly appreciate that Alex takes it personally when an opponent scores when he is in the game. That is why he works so hard when he's on the field. Congratulations, Alex on your excellent defensive efforts throughout this past weekend's tournament.
